We offer basic Internet access high up in our remote Andean paradise.
Note: Because we are completely off the grid, our Internet connection is through the mobile phone network. While this limits the connectivity speed, simple functions such as emails and social networking work fine. We do not have WiFi at this time.
Laundry
The Way Inn lodge is situated right on the border of the UNESCO World Heritage site of the Parque Huascaran. You couldn’t be much closer to acres and acres of open spaces to explore. There are lakes, valleys, open fields and of course many mountain slopes to be trod.
Of course such activities lend themselves to the need to keep changing your clothes to stay smelling fresh.
The good news is that we do have a laundry machine here but because of our location and absence from being hooked up to the grid, electricity is not on 24 hours a day. In the hours that the generator is on, we have sheets and towels to wash. However, we do extend a laundry service to clients for any extra electricity time.
We will rent you the machine to wash your clothes during these evening hours, leaving you to take care of hanging and taking down. Our main concern is to not lose any of your clothes items so leave us your laundry in the evening to be watched in the machine and the next day you can leave them hanging on some of our many lines for mountain fresh air drying.
Transport
All visitors to The Way Inn must arrive first in Huaraz. Outside of having your own vehicle, the only ways to get to Huaraz are by plane or bus. Both journeys offer amazing views of the Pacific coastline leaving Lima and stunning Andean mountain scenes enroute.
Once in Huaraz, you will need further transport to get you to the lodge. From the town, our mountain lodge is 15 kilometres into the Cordillera Blanca. While it doesn’t sound like a lot, the journey takes up to 40 minutes because of the windy mountain trail, which is not yet paved.
We can help you co-ordinate your transport from Huaraz to the lodge and any return journeys via cell phone. Let us know at the time of reservation or call us on our number to arrange a pick up through one of our reliable taxi drivers.
You can get picked up from your lodging or the bus station and taken straight to the lodge for the current (2010) price of s/35, for up to 4 passengers. This would be the same price for arranging a pickup from the lodge back to town.

Massage (subject to availability)
For your holiday comfort and relaxation, The Way Inn Lodge is perfectly situated in the Cordillera Blanca, to afford visitors the time and space to relax and unwind from the visual and audible hubbub of city life. In fact, here you couldn’t really be further away from it.
For an added touch of relaxation, a hot sauna in the evening offers a healthy and wholesome heat treatment for sore and achy muscles. Add to that a deep tissue massage from our visiting masseuse, and you really have the final touches to a blissful holiday.
Ask about massage at the time of booking, or look into availability when you arrive.
Please note we do not have massage therapist on site at all times.
Library
The location of The Way Inn, high above the Andes, lends itself to 360 degree views of breathtaking sights. Throughout the day, under the varying shades and angles of the sun, the land and skyscapes twist and turn demonstrating vibrant colours all around.
If you can tear your eyes away from such beauty, The Way Inn library offers a wealth of interesting material for stimulating the imagination. There are many interesting self-help books, publications presenting philosophical approaches to life and a good selection of fiction to capture your interest.
Take this opportunity to reflect and delve into subjects you’ve always been curious about, but not had the time to explore. The library has a small exchange section with a larger selection you can borrow during your stay.
Books in English are very valuable here, so the loan library will register the book you borrow on your tab and we ask that these books are not taken off the property. Just one of the many special provisions made for you as a guest at The Way Inn.
